2023 Chevrolet Equinox FAQ

What Is the towing capacity for the 2023 Chevy Equinox?

Sometimes SUVs take us on adventures where we need more gear and cargo than can reasonably fit inside a vehicle. In cases where you just can't load it all in, towing is a great option. A turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine translates to a slightly lower towing capacity than other SUVs in its class, allowing you to tow up to 1,500 pounds. Although this won't allow you to haul large trailers or extra-heavy loads, this towing capacity still opens up the possibility of bringing a jet ski, a single-axle trailer, a motorcycle, or a small A-frame camper.

Does the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox have Super Cruise?

Although equipped with a variety of features, the 2023 Equinox doesn't have GMC's hands-free driving feature, known as Super Cruise. It does, however, have other driver-assistance features to help make your drive as hassle-free as possible. Coming standard on the 2023 Equinox is a rearview camera, front collision warning, forward automatic braking system, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high beams, and rear-seat alert. It's also possible to upgrade the drive-assist features with the optional front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, a surround-view parking camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, safety alert seat, and hands-free park assist.

What's new with the 2023 Chevy Equinox?

Although there are no major redesigns with the 2023 Chevy Equinox, there are still a few changes worth noting. If you're looking for more variety in the exterior color of your car, you're in luck. The 2023 Equinox includes three new paint options: Radiant Red Tintcoat, Sterling Gray Metallic, and Harvest Gold Metallic. The Equinox LS trim is now available with two new packages: the Midnight and Sport editions.

While the aforementioned changes are mostly aesthetic, the 2023 Equinox also includes a few changes to its engine and braking system. The 2023 model comes with a slight boost to the engine, with horsepower increasing from 170 to 175. Finally, Chevy has improved the braking system of the 2023 Equinox by switching to an electronically assisted system called E-boost.

Technology Features

For drivers interested in technology features, the 2023 Equinox has a variety of tech capabilities that are sure to impress. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, so you're sure to stay connected while on the road. You also benefit from a 7-inch touch-screen infotainment screen, a six-speaker stereo, satellite radio, Bluetooth, and four USB ports. If you're looking to upgrade the interior technology, the 2023 Equinox gives you the option of an 8-inch touch screen, voice recognition, in-vehicle apps, a seven-speaker Bose system, a wireless charging station, and an additional two USB ports.

Trims and Configurations

The 2023 Chevy Equinox has four trim levels to choose from: LS, LT, RS, and Premier. While none of these trims has the option of four-wheel drive, they all have the option of upgrading to all-wheel drive.

The LS trim is the base trim, with all of the previously mentioned standard features. The next trim level is the LT, which includes the LS Convenience package as a standard feature. The RS trim level stands out for its sportier aesthetic, including a unique grille, "RS" badging, and black 19-inch wheels. The most expensive trim level is the Premier, where you'll find a more sophisticated look, including a bright grille, 18-inch machine-faced wheels, and roof rails.
