Chevrolet 1500 Trim Levels and Configurations

For 2023, you can choose a Chevrolet Silverado from our Apple Chevrolet inventory in Work Truck (WT), Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, ZR2, LTZ, and High Country trim levels, each with its own unique grille and styling cues. Depending on the trim, you can choose a four-door extended Double Cab with a standard 6-foot-6 bed or a spacious four-door Crew Cab with either the standard bed or a 5-foot-8 short bed. The WT is also offered with a two-door regular cab and either a standard or an 8-foot-long bed.

The Chevrolet 1500 WT is the workhorse of the lineup. It features daytime running lights (DRL), black bumpers and mirror caps, 17-inch steel wheels, rear bumper corner steps, cargo area lighting, and 12 standard cargo bed tie-downs. The Custom trim adds body-color bumpers, black recovery hooks, bright 20-inch aluminum wheels, heated power mirrors, deep-tinted rear glass, an EZ Lift tailgate, and LED bed lighting.

For added off-road capability, the Trail Boss models have higher ground clearance, upgraded suspension, 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, and red recovery hooks. Stepping up to the LT gets you Chrome bumpers and trim, LED headlights and signature DRL, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The RST shows its street cred with a sportier look, along with LED fog lights and taillights, body-color trim, and 18-inch wheels.

With the LTZ, you get chrome trim, perimeter lighting, 20-inch wheels, power-folding auto-dimming mirrors, a 120-volt power outlet, and a power tailgate. The top-of-the-range High Country steps up the style with chrome running boards, chrome recovery hooks, and body-color mirrors. All models offer the option of the versatile six-function Multi-Flex tailgate.

Stylish and Well-Equipped Cabin

In the WT's cabin, you'll find hard-wearing vinyl upholstery with a front bench seat and a 60/40 split-folding rear seat (except in the regular cab). Interior features include push-button start, air conditioning, and a tilting steering wheel. With the Custom models, you get remote start, cloth upholstery, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and cruise control.

The LT adds a striking 12.3-inch configurable digital instrument display, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, and a tilt and telescoping steering column. Moving up to the LTZ gets you perforated leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front bucket seats, a power-adjustable passenger seat, and driver memory settings. The ZR2 offers heated rear seats and a power-sliding rear window, while the High Country features upgraded upholstery and open-pore wood trim.

Infotainment

With the standard Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system, you get a 7-inch touch screen, Bluetooth, voice command, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, and a six-speaker audio system. The Custom trim adds a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless smartphone connectivity, and satellite radio.

The LT model and above offer a premium system with a huge 13.4-inch touch screen. With its Google built-in voice recognition, you can use natural language to adjust the climate control, change radio stations, and more. The LTZ and up adds a premium Bose seven-speaker sound system.

Powertrain Options

Depending on the trim, you can choose from four powertrains. First in the Chevrolet 1500 engine lineup is a 2.7-liter four-cylinder turbo that delivers 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Next up is a 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V-8 engine that generates 383 lb-ft of torque.

An available 6.2-liter V-8 engine develops 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Your final option is an inline six-cylinder 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine. For 2023, its output has been increased to 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque. All but the four-cylinder engine are paired with a smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission.

Performance

Most Chevrolet Silverado trims come standard with rear-wheel drive and offer the option of a four-wheel-drive system that's standard on Trail Boss and ZR2 models. When equipped with the four-cylinder engine, the Chevrolet 1500 has a towing capacity of up to 9,500 pounds and a maximum payload of 2,260 pounds. With the 6.2-liter V-8, the Max Trailering Package, and 20-inch wheels, its conventional towing capacity increases to an impressive 13,300 pounds.

Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Bison

For the 2023 ZR2, Chevrolet teamed up with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) to create the ultimate off-road beast. The ZR2 Bison Edition is powered by the 6.2-liter V-8 and features unique exterior and interior styling with sporty design cues. This model is similarly equipped to the High Country but has extra features for serious off-roading.

The ZR2 offers 11.2 inches of ground clearance, adaptive suspension, electronic locking front and rear differentials, and 18-inch AEV wheels with 33-inch all-terrain tires. Protecting the truck are steel AEV-stamped front and rear bumpers, extra rocker panel protection, and five boron steel skid plates for the fuel tank, transfer case, and differentials.

Safety Technology

The Chevrolet 1500 comes standard with the Chevy Safety Assist suite of safety features. It includes a following distance indicator, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, and automatic high beams.

You also get a rearview camera with hitch guidance, a rear seat reminder, buckle to drive, and teen driver functions. The LTZ adds front and rear parking sensors, trailer side blind-zone alert, and HD surround vision, while the ZR2 and High Country give you a bed view camera and an in-vehicle trailering app.
